Intern CHIE (Clinical Health Information Exchange)

The UHIN CHIE (Clinical Health Information Exchange) facilitates the secure exchange of clinical data across disparate healthcare systems to improve patient treatment and care coordination across the continuum of care. Interoperability is at the core of what we do and drives our efforts to standardize and integrate data across multiple exchange formats.

We are looking for a detail-oriented Biomedical or Health Informatics (or equivalent training in health information technology) Intern to join our clinical data team. In this role, you will be at the front lines of healthcare digital transformation, helping bridge the gap between complex clinical workflows and technical data exchange standards.

Your primary focus will be defining the “blueprints” that allow hospitals and healthcare providers to seamlessly share patient data with our systems. Interoperability is the backbone of modern medicine. By creating clear specifications, you are ensuring that a doctor in one facility has the information they need from another facility to make a life-saving decision.

Note: This is a technical role that requires a blend of clinical curiosity and engineering discipline.
