UHINet II

A Backbone for Utah Healthcare Transactions

UHINet is the “Backbone” for securely transmitting health care transactions and messages between UHIN members.   UHINet II allows members of the UHIN community to send and receive electronic health care transactions and messages (i.e. claims, remittance advice, claims status, eligibility, lab reports, clinician credentialing information, discharge summaries, acknowledgements, attachments, etc.).  Through a single connection to UHINet, you can send and receive messages to any other authorized member.  UHINet is connected to more than 4500 healthcare payers nationally (including Medicare and Medicaid), clinicians, hospitals, clearinghouses, labs, and pharmacies.  This reduces members’ costs to create and maintain connections to hundreds of payers, labs and hospitals.

In order to use UHINet II you must be a member. Find out how to join here.

UHINet II is Fast, Secure, Simple and Inexpensive to Use

UHINet is a “payload independent” web service.  This means that any transaction format (X12, HL7, PDF, tiff, NCPDP, DICOM, Rendered Image, etc.) can be transmitted through the gateway.  UHINet has been EHNAC certified since 2004 which means it is  secure, fast, and backed up with excellent member service. UHIN members can connect directly to UHINet using a standards compliant practice management system or with other software such as UHINt (available at no charge).  We encourage members to direct connect. UHINet meets the security requirements of the community by having specific permissions, clinical messaging, and provider-to-provider communication.
